I purchased this item because the old version of this mini remote was very poorly made and started opening and closing the door at will. After receiving the new model remote, I can see the superior construction. Although I have not had the necessity to use the embedded mini LED light, it is a worthy addition even though it causes a minor increase in size from the previous model. -- Genie One button Flashlight Mini Remote
This is a wonderful product - my husband is an avid road cyclist, and enjoys having this miniature opener for easy access to the garage. Beats carrying around keys or a larger garage door opener, as every gram counts! -- mini garage door opener
It is to big for the key me - I carry keys in my pockey - but my wife loves it. Since the size makes little difference since she puts them in her purse. She likes having the door opener even when she does not drive. -- Works.
I was looking for a key-fob Intellicode remote to use with my motorcycle, since it has a dedicated spot in my garage. I thought the flashlight was a nice bonus feature, but eventually had three problems with this model:
1. Despite a raised lip around the flashlight button, it did accidentally turn on in my pocket at work one day and run the battery down.
2. The housing was not very tough, and the bouncing around inherent with life on a motorcycle popped the case in half more than once (snap fit).
3. The "quick release" ball/socket connection between the two key rings is also not very tough, which resulted in the fob detaching from the key during a cross-country ride. There was no way to figure out where along the road it fell off. As a result, I no longer own this product. If you do use this remote on a motorcycle, throw the quick release away.
I have found, however, that the standard Intellicode visor-mount remote fits in one of my cycle jacket's inside pockets w/velcro closure quite securely, and with the button facing out I can activate it through the jacket. -- Not recommended for motorcycles
I bought two of these remotes to replace the original ones that came with our Overhead Door Legacy opener. I read that these work just as well on Overhead Door CodeDodger products as they do on Genie Intellicode. It's true. They do.Tags:convenience, flashlight, genie, intellicode
Programming them is simple. Just follow the instructions (same for both types). I found the range of these remotes to be about the same as the originals--maybe even better. There size is just slightly larger than I prefer, but I guess that's to be expected since they use AAA batteries. And I do like that they use AAA's. We usually have plenty of those around.
My wife and I like the convienience of having the remotes attached to our keyrings; plus, we have always been a little nervous about leaving remotes in our vehicles. If someone breaks into one of our cars they can get into the house through the garage. Not to mention, the heat of the Florida sun is what destroyed the original remote. -- Works as expected
